When I first arrived in Dublin, I totally fall in love with the Georgian painted doors! I wanted to have, absolutely, a yellow or purple door. I think that those are just so stylish and would be really original for an entrance. Unfortunately, I do not have one of those two colors but, today, I’ve been in one of the city’s finest squares located on the Southside of Dublin city center: Merrion Square. When I arrived there, it was so spectacular: all those colored doors, each more beautiful than the last. Since, I’ve called that area the ” Doorsland ” and was already thinking about doing an article that concerns beautiful painted doors in Dublin.

There are a lot of tales concerning colored doors in Dublin. Some said that it was started by some eccentric writers who wanted a punch of originality in their life. But one of the tales made me really laugh. Apparently, it was started by women who were sick about seeing their husbands entering the wrong door while they were drunk. So, they started painting their doors so that their husbands do not have excuses anymore. Whatever the reason, these doors give a lot of colors and happiness to the city.
